2019 Symposium on Taiwan Citizens’ Scientific Literacy in 2018

Objectives:

The project “Survey of Scientific Literacy”-funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Executive Yuan-carries out a large-scale sampling survey conducted nationwide in Taiwan. Currently, the three-year survey has been completed.

This project aims to develop an appropriate survey instrument that can be used to investigate the current situation of our citizens’ scientific literacy and lay the groundwork for the future data and research. Besides the situated assessment of the citizens’ scientific competency, the assessment framework covers comparisons of their scientific literacy via longitudinal research on the citizens’ performances in different years.

Through this symposium, the results and findings conducted in the third year of the project (2018) will be shared to those interested in Taiwan citizens’ scientific literacy.
